Now its endurance

Today was a low workout day.  AKA rest day.

Not much to report but I did try to run 1 lap.  I am not sure if the shoes is the problem, I think it may be the insoles.

Anyway, we’ll see over the next 3 days.

While I was running I did feel like a needed more “road” time rather than treadmill time.

New shoes helped

My foot and legs held up today as I ran 4 miles on the treadmill but I think my endurance took a shot.

I was able to score 941 calories on the treadmill and I believe another 163 on the elliptical.

Note that my weight is returning to normal.  I look forward to tomorrow’s rest day.

Cheap New Shoes

The situation is bad, I really wanted to get shoes that were right for my feet.  Unfortunately I do not have enough time to go to Bonnie Lake.

So settled on a cheaper pair of shoes that was less than $35.  Hopefully it will be enough time to last till the 5K or if needed after that.  For sure I want to get a good pair for the Marathon.

Today’s workout was not too bad, mostly because it was mostly anaerobic.  This weekend will be telling.

Need New Shoes Bad

I started my run today at lunch thinking I could make it a 5K.  After the first mile though my legs were shot.  I was running a erally good pace too so it did not feel like an endurance issue.

But I know this is about that time to replace my shoes.  I may go for a cheaper brand then get a good brand a week before the 5K which will give me time to break the good pair in time for the 1/2 marathon.

Paying the Price

We got back from Linuxfest today, boy was it fun but there is a cost associated with it.

When I drive long distances I tend to snack, also, when we are out like this for several days, my diet changes.  You can  say I “Let myself go”

Anyway, it was fun and I tried to run today.  It was an untimed run in that I did not have my watch (another byproduct of being off my game for the past 49 hours) but I did have my phone.  After a couple hundred yards I noted the time at 6:45PM after two laps and passing that same point again it was 7:11, so I am sure I ran it in less than 30 minutes but I do not have a clue  at what point in the minute my run started and ended since there is no second counter.  So I could be off as much as 118 seconds.

It was an OK run.

My weight kind of betrays the amount I pigged out during the past two days.

Wish I had a pool

Well, I am at Linuxfest, and my workout has been altered.

I normally run a 4+ today but I did some pushups and situps.

But I also did some workout in the pool.  Also dunked my self in the Jacuzzi.

I feel tired like I did run a 4+, I wish I had a pool at home to do laps.

Maybe when I’m rich 🙂

Worn out a little

Not sure why but I am feeling a little weak today.    I have not been breathing right.

I tried my best to work out in the gym, also there were a lot of people in there today.  They were nice enough, just made me a little more shy.

Also my schedule has been altered due to Linuxfest.  Tomorrow will be a relatively light workout.  I need to rest too heal, my shoulder hurts a bit.

But tonight, the pool tomorrow too.

Bring your child to work day

Also this is Earth Day 2010, the 40th anniversary.

I was supposed to take the bus (going green) this morning but my oldest son wanted to go to work with me.  So I drove in and could not abandon my son to hit the gym.  This threw off my workout schedule so I will need to make it up.

Anyway, in a normal week today is supposed to be a low workout day.  I did walk a lap and run a lap.

I needed the break physically cause I could feel it in my body.

Interesting Wednesday workout

So I mentioned that I needed to do a longer run.  I tried it out today and boy did it push me.

Wednesdays are my 1000 calorie gym days.  It is where I use the aerobic machines to accumulate 1000 calories of burn.  I normally add variety and do two or 3 machines.

Today I did it all on the treadmill.  One hour run with a five minute cool down.   It was awesome.  Afterwards though I was beat and pretty dehydrated.  Took the rest of the day to get my water back into my cells.

Yes that is 5.39 mile of running in 65 minutes.  Also I was at a 4 incline and at least 5MPH going high as 5.2

I did weigh myself in the gym and it did show 245.0   But alas it was not official.

Forgot what a morning run was like

A morning run really gets you going, I started a run this morning and I struggled through the first lap telling myself just one.

Then I got going and really felt like doing another.

Unfortunately I did not sleep early and felt the effects later on during the day.

Before I did my evening gym workout I had to close my eyes for a few minutes.

I made it through my gym workout (amazing how much I can bench now) and when I got home, quickly passed out after dinner.

Tomorrow is a 1000 cal workout so I need to catch the first bus out, so I may not be getting the sleep I need again.

Weigh in was done under official conditions, after AM workout and morning bathroom, before breakfast.  I really think this is my true weight.
