Workout Schedule

So yesterday’s (actually today’s) late post got me thinking of my workout schedule.

  1. Monday – Gym run on Treadmill 4 miles in 1 hour.  Add another 2 mile walk.  Bus walk suffices.
  2. Tuesday – 2 mile morning run + Gym chest workout w/ 2 mile walk either outside or on Treadmill
  3. Wednesday – Gym run on Treadmill 4 miles in 1 hour.  Add another 2 mile walk.  Bus walk suffices.
  4. Thursday – Low workout day. 1 mile run 1 mile walk.
  5. Friday – Heavy workout day, 4+ AM run, Gym arms workout w/ 2 mile walk.
  6. Saturday – 4+
  7. Sunday – 4+

Yesterday’s workout was incredible, I think that is the most I ever sweat.

Forgot to post yesterday

I went off my normal routine yesterday and ended up working out at work.

So this is a late post and you will see one in a few minutes after my AM run, but the weight is yesterday’s weight.

I did weigh myself on the scale after work and it did show 265.

Football Season is starting

So the football season is starting.  It is going to start affecting my workout shedule since I am a football junkie.

Anyway, late workout again.  I ran a 4+ today, I thought I was gonna have a crappy run but it turned out all right.

My time was a respectable 55:47

We did eat out today and I seem to be eating a lot lately.  I know this will effect me schedule.  But today’s weigh was surprising.

Doubts starting to creep in

I don’t know if I will make it.  Yesterday and last night I ate some bad stuff (junk food).  Although I have to enjoy something once and a while.

Anyway, my weight is not progressing as quickly as I wanted it to.

Before I ran this morning I weighed in at 270 lbs.  Thank goodness it is not official.

Anyway I ran the 4+ and my time was 57:15, not my best time but within tolerance.

Also been busy, I have more to say and may say it later today in a misc post.  But right now I have some Saturday work to do.

Scarfed out last night

Yesterday I worked late and I was really hungry when I got home.  Plus there were these awesome little fried fish that I couldn’t stop munching on.  I am pretty sure they were bad for me. 

Late Dinner + Good Food + Hungry = Bad

It looks like it is getting much harder to lose weight.  A lot of things are getting in the way of a good workout.  Working late, fixing the house, kids school, daylight hours diminishing.  How do I compensate?  Maybe switch to the gym?

I did hit the gym yesterday.  But I kept looking at the time because I knew I had some work that evening.

Anyway my run was poor today as well, my time for 2 laps was 28:33.75

Tomorrow’s weigh in fills me with fear.  I need to get under 266, I do have a heavy gym workout and a 4+ to run tomorrow.  It is highly possible.

At least I can clearly say I am under 270.

Slowly back in the groove

Yesterday, as the day went on, it became clear I needed to rest.  As noted, I skipped my morning workout, but in the evening, I did not go to the gym.  I just did not feel well.  Instead I went home a little early from work, took an hour nap and ran a mile and walked a mile.

Also I setup gallery photo on my internal server.  I looked at some past pics and to be honest I cannot tell if I am losing.   Based on my weigh in’s, and when the photo’s were taken, I been losing 7 lbs a month.  Which is realistic, but won’t get me to my 250 goal by October 20th.   Worse is it translates to only 84 lbs in 1 year, putting me at about 211 lbs for summer next year, missing my goal by 20 lbs.

More interesting is that usually your rate of weight loss will deccelarate as your weight drops.

So is all hope of making weight lost? 

Not really, I got couple things going for me.  The big one is that I am lifting weights and adding a protein shake to my diet.  That does add weight and I’ve never done it on a regular basis before.  It is possible that I will start to lose more fat, which is the real goal not weight, as time moves on.

Another one is that my weigh with my photo’s are not the lowest weight point of the week.

Finally, I am evolving, both mentally and physically.  I am learning what to do and my body is getting better at it.

Slowing down a bit today

My body is sore, it is signaling that it needs some rest.   I don’t like slowing down because I feel like I am losing this weight loss momentum. 

But I am starting to understand my body and the aches and pains at this stage means I need rest.  I will go to the gym today but I am even considering a light workout, no weights for sure but maybe just a 1 mile run and a 2 mile walk.  More than likely I will do a 2 mile run and a low incline and a 2 mile walk.

Getting darker, running faster

I got up this morning to do my run and it was dark.  I did run my normal route twice which is about 1.2 miles once.  So I ran over 2 miles.  Its starting to look like I’m going to be running mostly treadmill soon.

My time 27:02.43, I will start to track it but I won’t do a special category like the 4+.

Last night we had a wine tasting party at my place.  It was fun, I got a little buzz, I wouldn’t say I got hammered or drunk like Saturday night.  I felt good but there was a cost.  I could not sleep.  Weird, wine used to make me sleep but not this time.

Got gym this afternoon as well.

I got 12 days to get to 260.  Although not the end if I don’t get there in 12 days, it will certainly get harder to reach 250 by the 20th of October, which as of today is exactly 6 weeks.

I better get moving

Another late day run

It is Labor day and I had the day off.  So I decided to only do 1 workout.  Still it was a 4 mile.  This time I hardly walked I ran almost the entire length.  So as of right now I am renaming the 1+3 route to the 4+ route.  Not that I will always run it from here on out, but I am getting really close.

Anyway, conditions were better than yesterday and I was a little full from that 1/2 foot long subway sandwhich.  But I think this is a record.  My 4+ was run in 52:01.  I am going to add a new category and call it Four Plus Time.

My weight before the run was 270.2.  I have 43 days to reach 250.  At that rate I need to burn an excess of 1645 calories per day to make.

Luckily my official weight is closer to yesterday’s weight.

Finally got a watch and stopped snoring

Today is Sunday, so as usual it is a late workout.  But its cool because I ran a 1+3, ran it in exactly 57.0 minutes.  I will start to time my runs now.  First I will see what I normally run it in then I will start setting goals.

I felt like I got have run a little faster than 57 minutes.  I did encounter  a couple longer stop lights and weather was certainly poor.  There was a light rain.  But I think the thing that slowed me down the most was sharing those 3 bottles of mine with my brother in law Rick. 

Yesterday my wife surprised me.  She said that I do not snore as loud anymore.  That is truly noteworthy.  It did not occur to me that I would stop snoring.

I am behind schedule, I hope I can make it to 260 in 2 weeks.  There is leeway, but I need to push hard.  Today is not so bad.  It is a late weigh in.
