Stopping the Lipo 6

I am going to put a hold on using Lipo 6 for now.  Maybe for a month or two.  I have a few pills left at work and will finish those.  After that I will detox it from my system.

I just want to change what my body is getting used to.  Other things I am doing is changing my workouts, I mentioned I added stationary bike to my workout.

I ran a 4+ today in 57:55, which is pretty poor.  I did not take Lipo 6 so I did not get that caffeine boost it provides.

It’ll be a good weekend, I will rest my body for at least 24 hours.

Getting dark and raining

The weather is not cooperating anymore.  It is going to get tougher to run our side in the mornings and I am going to have to start considering running indoors on a treadmill or a bike.

Maybe it is a good thing because running on a treadmill does not put the same stress on my feet as running on pavement.

Anyway, Fridays are my heavy workout days.  I ran a 4+ this morning with a time of 53:26 and I still got a gym workout tonight.  I feel slower but the time does not reflect it.

Looks like I am in striking distance of my goal of 250 on the 20th. I have 18 days, in fact I may be ahead of schedule and may indeed hit it in 2 weeks.  I fear though, that a lot of my weight is water.  So I will hydrate a little more than usual today and the weekend.

All dark run

Today is a low workout day and I wanted to give my body 24 hours to rest.  So I had to run an early 2 miles.  By the time I got back to the house it was 6:20 and it was dark.  So the entire run was done without the sun and with artificial light.  I did run with a flashlight.

My run was 27:37.16, I thought I was going to have a good time and eased off a bit.  It was a mistake because I ended up ruining my chances at getting a new record.

Note regarding Bike

I wanted to document this, but I was on the treadmill for 20 minutes today and I set the resistance to 12.  With this setting I was able to burn 240  calories in 20 minutes.

So certainly the treadmill burns more, but the bike can work.

Trying the bike again

On Monday I went to the gym in the morning.  I planned to treadmill 4 miles but ended up mixing it up with the bike. I will try it again today.   The bike does not provide the same burn rate as the treadmill does for me.  Maybe that will change as my muscles get used to a new exercise, but it does work a different set of muscles.  Also it is easier on my knees.  Finally, something different, shake up my work out a little.

Drawing inispiration from others

Today is a two a day workout, I ran a 2 mile this morning, I started out slow as usual but I really did feel my legs picking up the pace.  In the end my time was27:32.08 which is decent.

As time goes on, I feel like slowing down more and more.  I don’t feel like I can keep up the intensity, and drawing energy from myself is not enough.  Like I said this is the time I usually falter and give up.

This weekend though I met an old aquaintance, Marlen, that I have not seen for a long time and looks incredible.  Marlen has inspired me huge.  Marlen, if you are reading this, thank you.

I want people who have not seen me for a while to be shocked at how much weight I have lost.

Finally, the scale seems to help, whenever I feel like snacking or not working out, I jump on and reflect on how far I’ve come and not to waste the effort I have put in.

Knees giving out

Today I worked out in one of our gyms at work.  My knees are having a hard time dealing with the pounding.

After I ran on the treadmill for 15 minutes (burning about 280 Calories), I switched to the stationary bike for 20 minutes and burned only 210 Calories.  I realized I burned more calories running so I got up to go on the treadmill and boy did I feel it.   I barely could walk 3 MPH on the treadmill.  I finally loosened up and was able to get to 380 calories.

This evening I added a mile walk but it was windy and pretty cold.  My wind breaker was not doing the trick.

At this point I don’t know if I can rest my knees and continue to burn 1500 calories in excess per day.

Asthma seems in remission

I ran a 4+ this evening as usual and I noticed it was getting dark earlier.  I thought I was going to have a horrible time because I started off so slow.  I ate a little before I ran and that did me in.  But run turned out to be decent. 53:49

But it was dark and I recall running in these conditions before and remember getting an asthma attack, and basically having a hard time breath.  Not anymore, so asthma was really weight related.

I knew I could do it… I know I can do it

I’ve been down lately.  Like I mentioned yesterday, this is the point where I start tailing off in my workouts.  Where I revert back to what brought me here in the first place.  I stop watching what I eat.

I know this because

  • I dread getting on that treadmill.  The should call it the dreadmill, not treadmill.
  • My body is getting used to the workouts, not sure  if its resisting the weight loss.
  • Two hours a day, that’s a lot of time to workout.
  • Its getting darker, I want to sleep in.

Here is my response from my spirit

  • Listen to music, 3 songs and you’ve hit that first mile.  Change music style occasionally.
  • That can be a problem, add more stretching, yoga, and weight lifting, reduce the running time.
  • Two hours a day is not forever.  Just till you get to 225, by then you can simply burn an excess of 800 per day instead of 1500 which requires 2 hours a day of workout.
  • Run right before lunch.

Anyway, getting on that scale does two things, curbs my appetite and boosts my morale.  I ran a 4+ today, my time was 53:33, not too bad, and weighed in.  There was an incredible amount of sweat on my shirt.  I weighed in without it  which makes it unofficial and I FINALLY cracked 260.  I got it at 258.2.  True it is unofficial because I did not have a  shirt on.  So my spirit was low as I push and struggle throught these work outs.  But the math is solid, burn 3500 calories, lose a pound.  Morale is so good that I feel like pushing harder and cracking the 255 mark by next week which is possible at the unofficial 258.2.

But is it possible with the official weight?  I say yes, but it is an outside shot.  But very possible, because yes, I did crack 260 official.

Spirit low, morale low, slowing down

I am pretty tired.  I feel like I can’t push any more.  I’m hungry, weak, and I am starting wonder if it is all worth it.

From a historical perspective, this is the time I begin to quit and revert to my old ways.  If I can make it to the 6 month point at this level of intensity (4 miles a day running, no big time snacking, even gym 2 times a week), then I think I would have changed from what I had been several years ago.

I still owe my first report, and I should do it just to get stuff logged down.

Anyway, I ran a 4+ this morning and although my legs seemed OK, my heart (spirit) was not into it.

Time was decent 54:20

Anyway, here is my weight, off schedule again
