Drinking alcohol last night slowed me a bit

But it did not stop me from setting a new record.

Conditions were good for a run but a bit cold.  I did wear extra clothes and gloves so I am sure that affected me a bit.  But I think what affected me the most was some drinking I did last night.  It was a little with the intent to help me sleep.

But the next morning it sure did make me want to use the bathroom.  So in that way, it helped me trim some weight. (No I did not barf).  But it did run counter to hydrating and the sleep was not all that good.

Another thing I did before the run was massage my right foot which has plantar fasciitis by rolling it over a relatively heavy galvanized pipe.

All that resulted in a new record for the 4+, 45:17.   It was a good run, gmap pedometer says this route is 4.3819 miles, that means I am running my mile in 10 minutes 20 seconds.  Not fast considering I have had times when I was running a mile under 7 minutes, but pretty darn good from when I could barely run 1/2  a mile.

Another milestone is my weight.  Huge huge huge.  This makes 240 by end of November possible, and 230 by end of year possible as well.

Expect a good run tomorrow

I ran in the evening today, I ran 2 miles + 1 mile walk.  Its weird, I felt good.  I almost wish this was a 4+ run.  My time was 24:25.32, not too shabby.

I plan to have a good sleep tonight and will get a good stretch out tomorrow morning.  I’ll also hydrate tonight.

My time last week which was a record, was 47:15.    I hope to beat that.  Imagine running it in 45 minutes.

Also another bonus, my weight.  That’s a record too.

Exhausted, long day

This was a long long day. 

I worked out in the morning though and got my exercise out of the way.  I worked out in the gym and got a decent work out. 

I need a break, and my endurance level is reaching its end.  I’m not talking about running a marathon, I’m talking about work, and the limited sleep I have had the past few days.

Meditation

I haven’t caught the bus for a while and I did notice that while I am on the bus to work and from work, it gives me time to prepare my mind for work and time to wind down and not take work or stress home.

But this past week and a half I have been driving and I did not find time to relax.  But on my run today I did have time to think relax and I felt good mentally.  This is a different feeling from the gym where everything is sanitized and in a warm cozy room.  I like it.

Anyway, I did 1 lap run and a w lap walk.  It is an easy day because I think tomorrow is gonna be a hard workout at the gym.

A little surprised

Cool, I thought a fell quite behind in my weightloss schedule.  I’m not to far off.  You could say I am in striking distance of cracking 250 before my wife and kids get back from Hawaii next week Friday.

Ran 2 laps and walked 1, my 2 lap time was pretty decent 24:54.68

What a busy schedule

I only ran 2 miles plus a 1 mile walk today and I am surprised that I even got that it.  I guess one way to get it in is run faster.  I did do my 2 laps in 24:32.26

I have just been way to busy.  With my normal day job, plus having to take care of my oldest son while my wife and other kids are in Hawaii, as well as my side business, it has been hectic.

I rarely use that excuse and I still get my workout in.   But the lack of daylight is really impacting me.

RIP Shoes

On Friday I mentioned I had a tough run and ended up running only a mile.

Yesterday I had incredible time during 4+ run.

Today I opted to run a quick 2 miles and my feet and knees started hurting bad.

The similarity with my Friday and Sunday run is the shoes.  Yesterday (Saturday) I used a completely different pair of shoes.

Is it is with heavy heart that I retire the shoes I purchased in the Summer, I guess 400 miles of total travel was too much.

Yesterday vs Todays Run

Yesterday was a pretty sad run, I only did 1 lap and my time was 15:22.74

I’m sure we can do better.

So today I ran with purpose.  I wanted to set a new record to my 4+. 

My time 47:15 which is a new record and the first time since I started recording my 4+ that I cracked 50 minutes.

Feel good too, I switched my shoes because it is worn.  If you think about it, I put over 400 miles on those shoes.

Weight is back on track albiet behind.  But at this rate, I have a chance to crack 50 before wife and kids come back from Hawaii.

Hard to Run Today

Weather was bad and it is getting dark.

I tried running when the light came out but it was still hard so I ended running only 1 mile.

Bummer today I was supposed to crack 250.

Tough schedule

Still been pretty busy and I am trying to adjust to my new schedule.

Tonight I have to stay late to patch some machines so I will go to the gym and work out now.
