Normally, I would be running today. Not much I can do without reinjury though. I don’t have a stationary bike.

Been really busy lately. I haven’t had much time to relax. But my time has been managed well. I still am getting my execise in albiet no running.

I tried to up my workout today by adding some time on to the elliptical today. Unfortunately I couldn’t, they way the elliptical made me beind my foot hurt too much.
Anyway, I did have an excellent stationary bike workout. I am starting to sweat more and can put more effort into it.

So the problem with my left foot is that I can’t put pressure on the toes. If I tippy toe today, my left foot won’t support me. I think when I can Tippy Toe with little pain, I will still wait a few days before I try to run again after I can tippy toe.
Starting to workout and gaining momentum.

I tell you, when something is wrong with you, like when you are in pain, you stop to care about other things. You don’t want to think about work, friends, family.
You don’t want to do anything. You just want the pain to go away.
I feel I am passed that. But the past few weeks were horrible. Now am facing life’s challenges and ready to drive on.
I am looking at what a got to do and am ready to do it.
Bring it on.
Anyway, foot still hurts but I made it on the bike. I did sweat, just a little, but it was worth it. Also noticed my weight lifting belt needed tightening. I recall when I bought it several months ago, I thought I was small enought to fit the size that was smaller. I wanted to get it because I knew I was going to lose weight. I was bummed about having to get the largest one they have. I think it will be soon time to get another belt because I will not be able to tighten it more. I’m kind of happy at having to buy a new belt.

Went walking for a lap today. Left foot still hurts, I am for sure still hobbled. But I feel like my legs want to go. In fact, my entire body but my left foot wants to run. It’s like that one small group of politicians try to execute a filibuster that stops progress.

Remember that Scene in the last years Star Trek movie. The Enterprise an crew were all gearing up to rescue some the people at Vulcan.
They were energized, built up and ready to go. All set to jump into Warp to head to Vulcan, then Sulu pushes it…. nothing… parking brakes were left on… err… inirtial dampeners or something like that.
Anyway, that is what the New Year feels like. I felt so much going into this new year. And my gout has to take over and slow my big bang.
Anyway, back to the analogy. It was a good thing that the Enterprise did not leave, it gave Kirk a chance to get up and stop them from entering an ambush.
So this is good, it let me focus on other things. I still have not pulled the Warp speed lever, but I am raring to go.
For now push ups and sit ups. Life is goign to get busy in a few weeks so I should just enjoy.

Today I actually went for a walk outside. This brings my back to when I first started, when I barly could go 1/2 a mile. My foot is certainly still tender, and I absolutely have a long way to go for full recovery.
I am hopeful that by this time next week I will be running a mile again. Hopefully at full strength by late January.

Well, self inflicted, but hey, it was last/first party of the year.
So I was pretty tired today, I think gout almost came back. I could not take meds in the morning because I do not know how it will react with last nights drinking. I needed several hours for my body to metabolize alchohol.
Anyway back to normal now. Still can’t run, but tomorrow I will start walking at least pending weather.
Just did pushups and situps today.

This is the last post of 2009. Sounds sad, but it does lead to the first post of 2010. This was an extremely interesting year.
I think my foot really is on the mend now. Trying some new medication and I think it works. I feel like its strong enough where I can walk fairly decent lengths but know its still tender and can hurt and I risk reinjury.
I did work out in the gym today. Certainly not as intense as a few weeks ago. But I think I will be running again in 3 weeks.
Still end the year off on a good note. I am under 250.
