Day 2 of vegetarian

I feel OK right now.  The cravings that I have had has subsided.  But I think I am not out of the woods yet.

It was supposed to be an easy workout day but I worked out a little harder than usual for a Thursday.

I guess to make up for the weak workouts I have had the prior days.

Day 1 of my New Diet

I hate to use the word diet because to me it sounds like a temporary fix to ones food intake.

But it does fit this situation.  I have stopped eating meat and I got to admit, there is some anxiety.  I feel like I am trying to make it up by eating sweets.  Which kind of brings me to me first realization, just because you go vegetarian doesn’t mean you are eating healthy.

For me, its becoming a weird balancing act.  Of course I said I will not eat meat, and I have left fish and eggs as options, but I still have to watch that I still eat healthy foods AND make sure what I eat does not trigger gout.

I did run outside today and I initially felt like I could run 2 mile again, but as I progressed, it seemed like the more painful my left foot became.  Which is the opposite of what I my right foot is like where it gets better as I progress.

Now that I am officially in non-meat mode, I am hoping to see improvement in my weight.

Hopefully I will hit 220 or less before June 20th.

Last Day for meat for a while

I worked out a little today, but was too busy to work out longer.

Today is Fat Tuesday, the day before Lent.  I will try to make it but I will be a vegaterian for six and a half weeks.

I can tell you that I am filled with some apprehension.  I am not sure I will be able to make it because I like meat so much.  But I think it will be a good thing, a new experience.

Slow go today

Took a nap in the afternoon then realized it was pretty late when I woke up.

I’m OK with it though.

Weight was measured at a weird time.  This is certainly not where I feel I should be.

Valentines Day

Didn’t eat a lot like I did during Superbowl Sunday, but I did enjoy a little today.  I may as well since lent is right around the corner.

I am taking it easy with the workouts today.  My servers are in need of some maintenance and this 3 day weekend was ideal.

Evaluating where I am at

Today I tried to run a 4+  It was more a 2+2.  My time was pretty sad, 1:20:03, pretty sad.   It was more of an endurance limitation though.  My first two miles were 29:21 which would get me through the half marathon.

Clearly, I need to get more distance running in.  If I cannot get my 4+ to under 50 minutes by the end of Lent then the 1/2 marathon in June may be too much.

As far as my weight, I hope that I can lose 15 lbs in 7 weeks.  Totally doable, maybe I can impress myself and lose 25, that is possible because I am cutting out a large portion of meat starting Wednesday.

That would be 3.5 lbs a week or 12250 calorie deficit per week or 1750 per day.  My current BMR is 2304.  That means I can eat only 554 calories per day plus whatever I burn working out.  Walking 3 miles a day will add 500 calories.  Add to that a general workout that will burn another 500 to 1000 calories and I think it can be done.

I am tired and that’s good

Had a most excellent workout today.

Today the dips were down to a 60 lb assist.

During today’s workout I been thinking of revised milestones.

Maybe the Saturday before Easter Sunday I will shoot to be back at full running strength and do the 4+ with a decent time.  A two lap run under 25 minutes.

At that time I hope to be under 240. (So 239.8 on my scale)

By June 20th

I would like to be able to curl the 45lb (maybe even 55lb) dumb bells.

Do 10 dips with no assist.

End of year

Maybe bench my weight.

Crack the 200lb mark.

I also have been thinking about my workout schedule.  This is probably going to get revised but

Is it getting brighter?

Things have been improving.  My feet are holding up, and I am feeling so much better.

But daylight is getting here sooner.  So I may be able to run in the morning again.

I’m almost back

Actually I think I’m just a bit out of shape.

Let me preface that yesterdays post was actually today.  What happened is after dinner last night I went to bed thinking I was going to take a short nap.  Next thing I know its 4AM.

In short I had a good good sleep.

I think that gave me a boost I needed.  Today my workout was awesome.  It was a mostly cardio workout (some weights) but I did burn quite a bit.  I started of with the treadmill for 10 minutes where I burned about 200 calories.  Then I went to the bike for 10 where a burned 147 and to the elliptical where I burned another 127.

After some weights I went back on the treadmill for 40 minutes and burned over 450 calories.

I new 75 more would push me over 1000 calories so I decided to just do it.  And so I jumped on the elliptical for another 10 minutes.

Totally awesome feeling.  My left foot held, my right foot loosened up after a few minutes.

If a keep at it I should be back by end of month.  Where it gets harder.

For now, I think I need some ibuprofen.

Good workout today

Everyday, the pain in my left foot diminishes.  I would venture to say that the plantar fasciitis is now more painful in my right foot than in my left foot.

Still, if I stepped on my left foot incorrectly it does hurt.
