Wow, what a Spring. This is the season I stopped focusing on the scale. There are so many things do look at instead. Strength, speed, stamina, size, style (hey 5’s).
Anyway, the phrase for this Season “More than Weight”
March
I’ve fought through gout, plantar fasciitis, and now asthma. Specifically, difficulty breathing. It seems like when I try to run I am gasping for air, and it is that gasping for air that makes this entire progress I have made slow down.
The weather has been horrible, and running outside was not ideal, and I do not feel the treadmill give me the full workout an outside run does.
April
Still eating veggie but Lent is almost over. Good Friday was brutal, I really fasted. Then I was able to eat meat again at after Easter Mass. It has been tough, but I did it.
At this point I am seeing that my weight is what it is, either that or my body is used to the same workout day in and day out. I feel destined to stay at about 250 for the rest of the year.
With the sun coming out earlier, it has been feasible to run in the morning again, adding to my workout. I recognized something else, I need more “road” time.
May
What an amazing month, this is the month that made the season worthwhile. This is the month it is not about weight, but about progress. I started hitting the weights and pushing more and more, I ran a 5k (real race), and I did hit my 1/2 marathon before the end of the month and the lowest point in my weight 243.8. Official too.
There were things I could measure that I was amazing myself, speed, distance, strength. But what I cannot measure is the confidence in myself, the happiness I feel, the fulfillment. Those things are huge.
June
This month is has the anniversary date. Now I need to look at the future. What is ahead for me, what about this blog.
Sadly, I have committed to ending this particular blog. You will see a final report after the marathon. I will start drafting it after this Spring Report and will post Sunday after the Marathon.
This month is where I see strength, I was able to bench a lot, and curl more.
This season is setting the pace for the next blog.
Although this is the last seasonal report, the final read is the Final Report (hmm how odd).
